About this directory

Find a Good Church lists 6,100 evangelical churches across Australia and New Zealand, so people can find a church near them.

Where the information comes from

Listings are compiled from the public church directories published by each denomination, then supplemented with details from each church's own website. Every listing records which directory it came from.

Searching a postcode also finds churches in the postcodes around it. Postcode locations come from GeoNames, used under CC BY 4.0.

Who is included

The directory covers mainstream evangelical and Protestant churches — Baptist, Pentecostal, Anglican (evangelical dioceses), Churches of Christ, Presbyterian, Wesleyan Methodist, Nazarene, Salvation Army and others.

A listing is not a recommendation

We aim to list every church we can find. Being listed here is not an endorsement of a church's teaching, leadership or practice, and we have not assessed them individually.

Choosing a church matters, so please use your own discernment: visit, read what they say they believe, meet the people, and prayerfully consider whether it is the right church for you. We are working on better ways to help you discern what a particular church holds to and stands for.

How current is it?

Every listing carries a confidence rating based on how much we could verify: whether the church's website was reachable, and whether contact details and an address were published. Churches move, merge and close, so please confirm details with the church before visiting.

Something wrong?

If your church is listed incorrectly, or you'd like to be added, please get in touch and we'll put it right.
